A Free Ragdoll Physics-based Platform Browser Game

Happy Wheels is a racing extreme sports and puzzle game, where you have to dodge different types of obstacles while riding from left to right on a 2D platform racetrack. The game is free to download but you will need to use data or WIFI to play the game.

Traverse different obstacles as you ride

Happy Wheels game allows you to play as different characters who get around on motorbikes, scooters, wheel chairs, bicycles, and so forth. In order to win the game, you need to collect coins and try not to die on each course. The controls are easy to use, simply tapping the forward button to dash, tap the right or left button to steer, and tap the stop button to decrease your speed. Obstacles come in the form of ramps, things to jump over, and a host of killing implements such as propellers, boards filled with knives, etc.

Simple but frustrating

The Happy Wheel game targets children and adults who enjoy casual gaming with its fair share of gruesome death. There isn't really much gore, but the ragdoll physics, allied with a nasty-looking death, will probably quench the thirst of blood-hungry casual gamers. It has vague similarities with the game “Dumb Ways To Die.” This game pits you in a race against the clock, and rewards you for collecting its difficult-to-reach coins by allowing you to progress and pick different vehicles.

PROS

  • Allows you to play as different characters
  • If you die you can restart where you died
  • You can record yourself while you are playing the game
  • The ragdoll physics are visually pleasing to watch

CONS

  • The graphics are flat and look cheap
  • Button/control sensitivity cannot be changed
  • Levels look like they were improvised very quickly
  • Frustratingly difficult for even the most seasoned gamer
